Terms of service for preparedness consultations

Terms of Service: Preparedness Consultation

1. Nature of Service
The Free email consultations and paid for 1-1 telephone consultations and all other related consultations are advisory services based on over 17 years of experience in UK preparedness. These sessions provide practical suggestions for normal life continuity (e.g., power cuts, local flooding, supply chain disruptions etc.) and unbiased kit/equipment recommendations.  Telephone consultations are only available to UK numbers.

2. No Professional Advice
I am not a structural engineer, electrician, medical professional, or legal advisor. My guidance is for informational purposes only. It should not replace professional surveys, official government emergency advice, or certified health and safety inspections.

3. Client Responsibility

  • Implementation: You are responsible for how you implement my suggestions.

  • Safety: Always follow UK building regulations and fire safety laws when storing supplies or modifying your home.

  • Maintenance: A plan is only as good as its upkeep; you are responsible for checking expiry dates on food, water, batteries and other consumables.

4. Limitation of Liability
While I aim to help you better prepare for "normal" disruptive events, I cannot guarantee your safety (or your families), or the prevention of property damage etc., during an actual emergency.

  • By booking a consultation, you agree that my liability is zero for free consultations.

  • For paid consultations my liability is limited to the total fee paid for paid consultations.

  • I am not liable for any indirect, consequential, or accidental losses.

5. Payments & Cancellations

  • Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your 1-1 slot.  I will call your designated number at the time agreed.  If there is no answer then I will call once more and then email you requesting that you make contact.  I will not attempt contact again unless I hear from you.

  • All cancellations must be made by email.

  • Cancellations for a standard 1-1 consultation made with more than 48 hours notice will receive a full refund.

  • Cancellations for a standard 1-1 consultation within 48 hours may be subject to a 50% rescheduling fee.

  • Cancellations for bespoke work such as (and not limited to) - plans, checklists etc will not be eligible for refund.

6. Ethical Use
These consultations are designed for lawful activities within Disaster Preparedness. I reserve the right to terminate any session—without refund—if the discussion moves toward illegal activities.

1-1 60 minute telephone consultations will be recorded.  The purpose for the recording is to provide a transcript or summary of the consultation.  They will be destroyed after 185 days.
